So, how many of us really know what “cardio” means?
What do we do (need to start doing) it? Why is it important?

What is cardio?
Cardio (or cardiovascular exercise or aerobic exercise) simply means engaging in an activitiy that raises your heart rate for an extended period of time.
Any examples?
Plenty! The most basic and straight forward include jogging, running, swimming etc etc.
Okay, err, why should I do it?
There is an endless list of reasons why we should all start cardio activities including:-
- Great for burning calories and losing weight
- Strengthen’s the heart and so its pumps blood through your body more efficiently.
- It increases lung capacity.
- Helps you sleep more soundly and reduces stress levels.
So that’s what “cardio” is, in a nutshell. So know you know, why not take your first step to a healthier lifestyle today?
